| At the office (or whenever you
are connected to the Internet, such as a wireless connection or plugged
into your docking station), download your own SQL Server database
information and the topographic maps and aerial photos you will need
that day to your PocketPC. In the field, view the database items on
detailed USGS topographic maps and Aerial photos on your PocketPC.
Locate a database item in the field using your PocketPC's GPS and
the maps. |
| Tap on a database item on the map
to bring up a data entry screen for that item. Enter data, make changes,
add new items. Upon return to your office (or whenever you are connected
to the Internet), synchronize your changes back to the main SQL server
database using SQL CE replication. |
